Where do keywords actually matter on YouTube? 🤔
Most creators think keywords are just about stuffing them into the title… but that’s only part of the picture.
If you want YouTube to understand what your video is about, keywords should show up in three key places 👇
1️⃣ The Title
Your title is one of the strongest signals to YouTube’s algorithm. It tells both the platform and the viewer what the video is about. Clear, searchable titles help your video get discovered.
2️⃣ The Description (especially chapters and timestamps)
Your description helps reinforce the topic of your video. Chapters and timestamps are especially powerful because they give YouTube more context about the different sections of your content and can be ranked in search.
3️⃣ What you actually say in the video
This is the one most creators overlook. YouTube can analyze the words spoken in your video. When you naturally say your topic or keywords out loud, it helps the platform better understand and categorize your content.
The key is not to force keywords.
Instead, focus on making your topic clear in your title, reinforcing it in your description, and naturally talking about it throughout the video.
When all three align, it becomes much easier for YouTube to understand who your content is for and when to recommend it. 📈
